Following James Franco’s “Yosemite” comes another movie based on his short stories “Palo Alto Stories” and “A California Childhood.” Written and directed by Nina Ljeti and Vladimir de Fontenay, “Memoria” received its premiere this past year at the Austin Film Festival. The producers intend to donate 100 percent of the films proceeds to arts programs around the country.

Set again in Palo Alto, “Memoria” follows a young teenager who is unsatisfied by life, his slacker group of friends, an unrequited love and a dysfunctional family life. Honing into the problems and difficulties we all face as adolescents, “Memoria” tries to answer questions about our memories and how we use them to forget, change and create our future.

“Memoria” will be released in theaters on April 8. Check out our exclusive trailer above.
